A US Airways maintenance worker was fatally crushed at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, AZ in mid-February, 2012.

Robert Demarco, 50, who had worked for US Airways for several years, somehow became lodged between the upper and lower conveyor belts in a checked baggage inspection area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Phoenix Police spokesperson says investigators are trying to determine what Demarco’s intentions were when he moved into the area between the two conveyor belts.

Demarco, who lived in Mesa, AZ, was married with four children.
